Yoga For Special Populations
Inclusive & Trauma Smart
Programs For A-Typical & Neurodivergent Populations
Create Calm is dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible programs for all members of our community, including those with unique challenges and neurodivergent development, especially those in segments of our community where these types of therapeutic services may not be accessible.
In partnership wiht the Baltimore City Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Programs, Create Calm invites young adults and individuals with disabilities to participate in a chair-based, accessible yoga program through Inclusion Services. These classes are free, open to the public, and take place weekly.
Our classes at Hearts & Homes for Youth have supported youth who have experienced neglect, abuse, mental health issues, homelessness, and other trauma to make positive life choices and build brighter futures and trained staff to be more attuned to the social-emotional needs of their clients.
Working with Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO), Main Street, and Autism Speaks, Create Calm helps young adults with developmental disabilities, including Autism, transition to and thrive in independent living, building a full life and become fully integrated into the wider community.
At Inova Life with Cancer, families are provided 24/7 access to the Create Calm Video Library where they can view featured brain breaks, full-length yoga classes for strength building and stretching, and mindfulness meditations for emotional balance and stress relief.
Together, we can ensure that everyone, especially those who are underserved, have the tools to be happy and well.
