Inclusive & Trauma Smart
Programs For A-Typical & Neuro-Diverse Populations
Create Calm is dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible programs for all members of our community, including those with unique challenges and neuro-diverse development.
In partnership with Baltimore City Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Programs, Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO), and Hearts & Homes for Youth, Create Calm has offered yoga and mindfulness programs for individuals who are differently abled or who might not otherwise have access to this type of wellness programming.
Through the Baltimore City Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Programs, Create Calm invites individuals with disabilities to participate in a chair-based, accessible yoga program through Inclusion Services. These classes are free, open to the public, and take place twice weekly.
Hearts & Homes for Youth is a program that supports youth who have experienced neglect, abuse, mental health issues, homelessness, and other trauma to make positive life choices and build brighter futures. Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO) is a nonprofit that helps young adults with developmental disabilities transition to independent living with the necessary supports to create a full life and become fully integrated into the wider community.
Together, we can ensure that everyone, especially those who are underserved, have the tools to be happy and well.
Programs For Stress Relief For Children, Families
In partnership with therapeutic centers including Amare Counseling & Education and Brighter Hope Wellness Center, Create Calm provides services in collaboration with psychologists, counselors, occupational therapists and physical therapists to support children and families as they navigate behavioral and emotional challenges, developmental delays, and build healthy relationships.
Artful Movement For Schools and Families
The therapeutic benefits of art contemplation, art making, and mindful movement come together in two very special programs designed by Create Calm in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art and the National Museum for Asian Art (Freer & Sackler Galleries). These educational experiences are provided free of charge to schools and several are open to the public. To inquire on behalf of your school, please contact email@example.com.

Support for Children and Adults with Physical Illness or Chronic Physical Challenges
Therapeutic interventions to enhance physical and emotional healing from illness, injury, or chronic physiological challenges such as diabetes, osteoporosis, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, crohn's disease, auto-immune imbalances, and cystic fibrosis are at the heart of our programs developed for community organizations such as the Inova Fairfax Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program and Inova Life with Cancer. These programs are adaptable, inclusive, and designed to build courage, connection, and independence.
Create Calm's programs are founded on therapeutic yoga principles as defined by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and implemented by Create Calm Founder, Lisa Danahy, an IAYT certified yoga therapist. Learn more about Yoga Therapy.
